Violence Intervention Program

Program Details

The Violence Intervention Prevention (VIP) program offers General Population and High-Risk services. Your referral will tell you which category you fall under.

If you are considered a general population referral, you will attend 120 minutes of group once a week, for 24 weeks.

If you are under High-Risk supervision, you will attend 120 minutes of group once a week, for 32 weeks.

Our groups are offered in the evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturday groups are during the day only, once a month, and are reserved for those who show proof of work limitations.

The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) program includes a group orientation and an individualized intake meeting. Each will last approximately one hour. Orientation consists of a general overview of how our program works, policies we follow, and is a space to ask any questions about the program that you may still have.

The individual intake meeting will be a one-on-one meeting where you and our intake specialist will review your new client forms and discuss mutual goals and expectations for your participation in our program. The purpose of our intake session is to assess each individual client’s appropriateness for services. Humble Beginnings’ VIP reserves the right to accept or deny clients; and terminate services pending a violation of the Agreement for Services that clients sign at intake.

You may only attend one group per week. Your intake paperwork will ask for you to list your top three group choices. Please ensure that you will be able to maintain your chosen group throughout the 24 or 32 weeks, as you will attend the same group each and every week. Once you complete the program, you and your facilitator will schedule a one-on-one exit session similar to your intake session.
